A Boston-area local, Joy Tessier graduated from Westwood High School in 1984, and earned a B.S. in Business Administration in 1988 from Bryant University. In 1997, Tessier co-founded RNK Telecom with Richard N. Koch, as a full-service network communications provider. She’s responsible for the company's strategic planning, and oversees all aspects of daily operations. Tessier and Koch have grown RNK to become one of the most successful Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) in the United States over the past ten years, increasing RNK’s market share year after year. Prior to RNK, Tessier held various leadership roles for other telecommunications companies including Cycomm Corporation, Shared Technologies, and Metracom Communications, a local and long distance reseller based in Boston where she served as Director of Operations. The Distinguished Alumna Achievement Award is presented annually to one alumnus who attended Bryant University and has a record of outstanding professional achievement.
